Happy Sunday, Reduxx Readers!
As a new Monday approaches, we are back to get you caught up on all the stories you might have missed while desperately trying to remain positive.
While the madness of the Paris Olympics is fading into the rear-view mirror, the Paris Paralympics submitted its challenger this week… allowing a biological male to compete in two track and field events intended for visually disabled female athletes.
Valentina Petrillo, a man who identifies as a woman with a visual impairment, ran in both the T12 200m and T12 400m this week, making it to the semi-finals in each race. Petrillo holds 11 men’s titles from when he competed with other men, and also holds multiple women’s records in his home nation of Italy.
Petrillo’s participation prompted Katrin Müller-Rottgardt, a Paralympian from Germany, to condemn the rules that allowed him to compete with women, noting that he has an obvious unfair advantage.
While Petrillo did not move forward to the finals in either category (whoohoo!), his participation resulted in the loss of a semi-finals opportunity for two female athletes.
Read our previous coverage of Petrillo’s invasion of the female locker room here, and watch a clip of him at the Paris Paralympics if you want to see him in action.
Without further ado… on to the news!

Yes, desperately trying to stay positive 😫
Oh my God…you know, I’m a 45 year old daughter of the (safer and funnier) 90’s, super liberal and hoping for a world with no tags, just being free AND doing good stuff for society. But reading the bloody psycho stories about crazy men publishing books with despicable content and scary covers with the help of publishing houses and retail companies, is just next level mad. I’m taking my daughter to a Catholic school next year. Not in my wildest dreams I thought I’d do that.
