The Reduxx Weekly Roundup: New Years Edition
A queer activist from Norway has pleaded guilty in a London court after carrying out castrations and live-streaming the footage as porn to a paying audience over a span of six years... and more news.
Happy 2024, Reduxx Readers!
As a new year creeps around the corner, we are back to get you caught up on not just the news you might have missed, but our year in review.
It almost feels like 2023 zipped by, didn’t it? How does the saying go? Time flies when you’re having fun? Can we edit that to be “time flies when you’re unmasking predators”?
In the past 12 months, Reduxx has published countless stories exposing gender ideology’s impact on women and children. Over 500, to be exact. Of those, more than 20 were exclusive investigations, many of which broke the internet and prompted real-world change.
Take, for example, the recent collaborative report we released with the help of the incredible women at the Independent Council for Women’s Sports. Reduxx was first to report on Tate Drageset’s verbal commitment to the University of Washington, and the subsequent backlash caused by our exclusive reportedly prompted the far-from-finalized deal to fall apart. While many trans activists condemned the piece and attacked the big boost Riley Gaines gave to the story, it served a very important purpose: Protecting another woman’s opportunity at a rare, valuable D1 scholarship.
Another historic moment came with the exclusive interviews we conducted with two female jiu-jitsu athletes who revealed the sorry state of women’s grappling. Ansleigh Wilk and Jayden Alexander bravely came forward and trusted us with their harrowing story of being effectively forced out of their own sport due to the participation of trans-identified males. Within 24 hours of us releasing our exclusive, the North American Grappling Association completely revised their transgender policy and instituted a no-exceptions single-sex guidance.
Those are just two examples of the work we did in 2023, and the impact is already so clear.
You might also be wondering how many people our stories reached this year. After all, we are a tiny, niche, independent outlet running on a shoestring budget, right? And we have heard from many people who feel like they are alone and going stir-crazy from ideological isolation.
Fear not — there are a lot of people out there who are reading the same stories you are.
Over 3 MILLION to be exact.
That’s 3 million individual people, most of whom each visited many times over.
Small world, eh?
But before we let you get to the sparkling wine, fireworks, and tapas, we want to offer a heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who kept us going this year.
To our silent readers who come and go without a word — we appreciate you!
And to our donors who help us keep the lights on and make sure our incredible writers, researchers, and sources are fairly compensated for their labor — we love ya!
Happy new year, Reduxx family!
We are back from our mini-hiatus beginning tomorrow. So get ready… we’ve got some crazy stuff right out the gate.
Without further ado… On to the news.
