As a new Monday approaches, we are back to get you caught up on all the news that will make you ask yourself why this is still happening.

This past week was dominated by stories related to the criminal justice system or the incarceration of trans-identified males. Two articles in particular offered an unusual mix of both good and bad news for female inmates.

For the good - a trans-identified male incarcerated in a women’s prison in Kansas was refused his demand to be allowed to enter the general population. Thomas Lamb, a sadistic killer who was also accused of rape, has been segregated from the female inmates despite being in a women’s facility. He is classified as such a high risk that he has been kept distanced from the women, and a judge has now ruled that he won’t be allowed to mingle with them any time soon. Lamb’s claims of discrimination were dismissed, and his insistence that his risk level be reduced was denied. Hooray… we suppose.

For the bad - a trans-identified male convicted of issuing grisly threats to rape and murder children in Illinois is likely headed for a women’s prison after being handed a paltry 1 year sentence. Alexia Willie, who was arrested earlier this year, has been classified as a “female” inmate by the Bureau of Prisons. Under current BOP policy, this is almost a guarantee that Willie will be housed in a women’s federal facility. Reduxx will keep an eye on the situation, and update our readers when we get official confirmation.
